Keira covers Harpers Bazaar

Keira is on the cover of September’s edition of Harpers Bazaar! She is photographed in Chanel for a gorgeous new photoshoot shot by legendary Ellen Von Unwerth. A preview of the cover has been added to the gallery along with a few outtakes. A few extracts from the interview can be read below.

On feeling more comfortable with life after turning 25: “I hated late teens, I hated early twenties, all of that, I think a lot of people do. Possibly I think I’m one of those people that always would have done and it didn’t really matter where I was in life. But I was totally uncomfortable in everything. And all of a sudden 25 hit, and I was like, ‘Ah, I think I’m all right’. And actually after 25 it’s been pretty good. I definitely feel like I’ve been around the block a couple of times, and that’s great.”

On co-star Jude Law’s less than flattering hair and make-up in Anna Karenina: “No wonder he kept that hat on… [the make-up and wig] were the worst. Poor fucker. I’d get to the end of the day, take my make-up and wig off, and I’d look shit. He’d take the make-up and wig off and look f***ing brilliant. And everyone would say, ‘Oh yeah! Good-looking man underneath!”

On working with rising star Aaron Johnson: “He is very confident. But he’s also got whatever it is, and I’m never sure quite what it is that makes an actor good, but he’s got it. It’s real. It’s a really interesting thing. If you asked him about his preparation or anything like that, I’m not quite sure what the answer would be – he’s a total wing-it, but he absolutely pulls it off. You sort of stand there and go, ‘Wow, I don’t know how you’ve done it, but you’ve really, really done it.’ It was amazing to watch.”

On why her female friendships are so important: “Women get a really bad rep but they’re f***ing excellent. I keep on having moments with groups of girls where I just think, girls are excellent, like really excellent. There is nothing like a friendship group of women, and for girly nights or whatever. It’s the best f***ing thing in the world. As much as we can be bitchy and gossipy and all the rest of it, I think equally if there’s something actually really wrong, we talk about it and we actually air it. And if it’s an argument, then it’s an argument, but we actually have it out, as opposed to that festering thing where suddenly you never speak to somebody ever again.”

On being a fan of Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld: “Karl’s amazing. He’s an avid reader. And he speaks about five different languages, so he’ll be rattling English to you and French to somebody else, and German to somebody else, and then the phone rings and he’s speaking in Italian.”

On why she doesn’t like sitting front row at fashion shows: “This sounds ridiculous but I don’t actually like having my picture taken and I tend to avoid anything where I have that…I would totally sneak in the back! And sit in the back row. I love seeing [the collections] as they were presented. Because it is art, when you see it. And the couple [of shows] that I’ve been to, they were absolutely extraordinary.”

Interview Magazine – April 2012

Keira Knightley is on the cover of the April 2012 issue of Interview magazine! A preview of the cover and a few shots from the photoshoot have been added to the gallery.

On liking to get lost in the movies like everyone else:
“I hate knowing too much when I’m going to the cinema. I don’t want to know that the actor has just gone through a divorce. I don’t want to know that the person is an alcoholic.”

On whether she thinks people can let go of her as a celebrity and focus on her as an actress:
“I think I’d be quite surprised if they could . . . I know with ‘A Dangerous Method’ people liked the spanking an awful lot. But I’m not quite sure. It’s weird, though, with the spanking. When we were in Venice, I didn’t get asked about it once . . . But in England, it was pretty much the only thing I got asked about. I’m not quite sure what that says about the English.”

Keira Knightley stars as patient-turned-psychiatrist Sabina Spielrein in David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method, which expands into theaters across the country this week. The film came out in limited release last Fall, and quickly earned notoriety for the racy sex scenes Keira shares with her hot costar Michael Fassbender, who plays Carl Jung. Yesterday, Keira spoke about working with both Michael and David. Keira shared excitement for the critical acclaim Michael’s earned for another daring performance in Shame, a movie she liked quite a bit. Flicks&Bits “Dangerous Method” Interview

Flicks and Bits.com have interviewed Keira about Dangerous Method, check it out below.

Drawn from true-life events, David Cronenberg’s ‘A Dangerous Method’ chronicles the turbulent relationships between fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender), his mentor Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) and Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley), the troubled but beautiful young woman who comes between them. Into the mix comes Otto Gross (Vincent Cassell), a debauched patient who is determined to push the boundaries. In this exploration of sensuality, ambition and deceit set the scene for the pivotal moment when Jung, Freud and Sabina come together and split apart, forever changing the face of modern thought. ‘A Dangerous Method’ is set for release November 23rd in the US, and Febuary 10th in the UK. Check out what Keira Knightley had to say about the film in a quick interview below.

Keira covers Marie Claire Australia

Keira is on the cover of Septembers issue of Marie Claire Australia. Check out the cover in the gallery, she looks great. Hopefully more from this photoshoot will be released soon. Read the interview below.

The setting for our cover shoot with Keira Knightley looks like something out of a dream sequence from Gossip Girl. The sunny Los Angeles studio is filled with racks of couture clothing. On a table flanked by beefy security guards sits more than $2 million in jewellery; another holds dozens of pairs of shoes. I finger the jewels in front of the stone-faced guards while waiting for Knightley, the new face of Coco Mademoiselle, to make her entrance. I half expect the young actress to sashay into the room with heaving bosom and hoop skirt – after all, no woman alive has brought more sex and intrigue to period dramas – but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Instead, a young woman appears at the door in a pleated skirt and blazer with brown lace-up shoes, greeting everyone with sweet, clipped hellos. Spotting Ben, her hairdresser, she makes a dash from the crowd around her and engulfs him with hugs and kisses. This girl knows where her bread is buttered.
